Man Cooking

When I was growing up, somewere in the dark ages, cooking was woman’s work. Of course men ccoked, how elses were bachelors and divorcees able to feed them selves. The subject of man cooking never really came up. Of course, if you think about it, the best chefs were always men (or so it seemed) and the braai was exclusively the erritory of men (and still is).

Today, cooking seems to be split equally between men and women. There are many woman who cannot cook, just as there are many men that cannot cook. But this is where it get interesting. Mens magazines tend to tell you how to cook the perfect steak or make man size sandwiches, whilst womens magazines tend to concentrate on budeget and family meals. Every now and then, there will be a crossover, witth steak and braai recipes posted in the womans mazaines and budget cooking in the mens magazines, though not very often.

At the end of the day, guys have simple tastes, a cold beer and griiled meat! ( Listen carefully, and you willl hear the sound of arteries hardening!)

I have seen this difference also but it goes a bit further than that. I find that almost all cake and dessert recipes come from woman. Like you said grilled steak recipes and other meats are usually from the men along with great barbeque sauces. this is one of my brothers grilling recipes http://www.painlesscooking.com/cooking-ribs.html
